Here at Peak Sleep Airway, we use the innovative Vivos System® to help treat sleep apnea and other sleep breathing disorders. This system is a type of functional orthodontics and works by taking a full-body approach to your treatment to improve not only your ability to breathe while asleep but also your overall health. To schedule a consultation with Dr. David Gordon and learn more about the Vivos System in Logan, Utah, call or text us today at 435-535-3591.
Our dentist may recommend the Vivos System if you have underdeveloped jaws. Underdeveloped jaws often lead to compromised airways in which the soft tissues of the throat or the tongue prevent you from breathing normally. The Vivos System works by keeping your airway open for normal breathing, treating your jaws so that they develop properly and “remodel” your airways.
When you receive treatment using the Vivos System, our dentist will fit you with comfortable, custom-made oral appliances. This appliance is worn at night and works to promote natural growth and correct positioning of the teeth, jaws and mouth, usually by advancing the lower jaw slightly. This treatment is available for patients of all ages, but it is especially beneficial for children. Children’s jaws have not yet finished developing, which makes it possible for our dentist to use the Vivos System to correct underlying issues before they become serious problems. In fact, by using this type of treatment, it is possible to prevent your child from needing braces or other orthodontic treatment in the future and may also help them avoid many future health concerns.
The Vivos System works to improve overall health as well as sleep breathing disorders. Some of the symptoms and conditions that the Vivos System may improve include:
ADHD
Anxiety
Bedwetting
Arrested growth
Aggression
Snoring
Allergies
Headaches
Hypertension
Obesity
